Teacher Training Seminar #2

Gold Coast, 11th & 12th July 2015

 

If you have completed Seminar #1, it’s time to do Seminar #2  where you will get further information, understanding, experience and greater detail about the work. There are sessions devoted to Teaching & Technique “Hints & Tips” which I’m sure you will find interesting & useful (and perhaps a little unusual) as well as be able to transfer that knowledge to other dance styles.

For part of the seminar, please select a few of your students to participate in a Master Class (See details on “Schedule” document) which I will conduct and you will view. You will have the opportunity to observe your students receiving corrections and this will give you a different perspective from when you are yourself giving class or doing the work physically. Come prepared with paper & pen to take notes. If you are coming from a distance and cannot bring a student, don’t worry…there will be enough local kids for you to observe. You will also get an opportunity to do an Open Class at each level (1 & 2).

Additionally, there is a lecture on Musicality and how to teach it. When in Melbourne, this lecture is given by my resident Guest Lecturer Tamara Mote A.C.M.M. (For More information about Ms Mote, see Acknowledgements Link)

Teacher Training Seminar #3

Perth, 3rd & 5th October 2015

It is time now to take the next step (actually, it’s a bit of a leap) forward into the teaching material for Level 3 of the program.

As the development of the syllabus progresses, Level 3 is a bridge to the upper levels of the program. This is where the real fun starts for the students with a number of different styles being added, longer enchainements with a far greater movement vocabulary being used. You will have by now cemented the basics in Levels 1 & 2 and these foundational principles will have served as a good preparation for what comes next. As in previous levels, there is a seamless flow with challenges being overcome piece by piece. As the puzzle begins to take shape, you will see dances emerging and in the studio, with this material, you will watch your students becoming dancers. This is perhaps the most exciting phase of the program.
